VICE Meets Glenn Greenwald: Snowden’s Journalist of Choice

We traveled to Rio de Janeiro to meet the man who broke the biggest news story of 2013. Glenn Greenwald is an American journalist and author who’s best known for reporting on the leaks of classified National Security Agency documents by former NSA contractor Edward Snowden. Before he was a journalist, Greenwald was a constitutional law and civil rights litigator, and until 2012 he was a contributing writer at Salon. He has authored four books: How Would a Patriot Act, Tragic Legacy, Great American Hypocrites, and With Liberty and Justice for Some. For 14 months Greenwald was a columnist at the Guardian, where he broke the first NSA story in June of 2013. He has since left the newspaper to team up with filmmaker Laura Poitras and journalist Jeremy Scahill to start a new media venture, First Look Media, backed by eBay founder Pierre Omidyar.

  • The Number 83 is neat

either between 150k-500k people are intellectual on youtube, or theres a censorship that caps the views at that level on this stupid website. every intelligent video has a view range in that area, i swear.

We might see peace and prosperity globally

  • Ghost of Erk Russell

Glen Greenwald is a shit journalist. He didn't "investigate" or "break" anything – Snowden handed him the story on a fucking silver platter. He is also a rabid apologist for Islamic terror – just like his faggot pal Reza Aslan who is on the payroll of Iranian mullahs.

funny, ha-ha – David Gregory is out on his ass at NBC…and Glenn continues to be a trailblazer in this internet/digital era of investigative journalism — perfectly poetic.  Guess a lack of true critical thinking skills killed the talking head…  see ya Dave.  Bravo Glenn!

Glenn Greenwald is a hero who is try to protect American civil liberties.  Since 9/11, Americans have given their rights away and turned American into a police state.  The NDAA, the Patriotic Act, guantatno bay, the torture chambers, the rendition programs, no due process, the department of homeland security, etc.

Many, many, many years ago, there was a very old saying that my teachers use to tell me, "You're innocent until proven guilty".  Those were back in the stone ages and no longer apply.  God, those were amazing days where you use to have a lawyer, a judge, plaintiffs, defendants and witnesses, as well as evidence gather.  I really miss those days…America is just a sad story.

I'm not here to subject you guys/gals to my opinions on the NSA vs Edward Snowden and I could care less about your opinions or trolling — but all I do have to say is that this dood is articulate & bright-as-hell! lol's

It doesn't matter if the spying has nothing to do with terrorism, the government ought to have the right to look into absolutely everything we are doing & be given the power to use that information at their complete disposal. If you don't agree with this, then you hate america & want to see this country burn.
Edward Snowden is a criminal & a traitor to the very values of what made this country great & ought to be hanged! Everyone ought to stand up against this scumbag.
